This week the Otters built some houses and tested them to see if they would withstand a wolf breath test! Here are some pictures of the creations…
Some of Foxes Class went to Wallop school to take part in a cluster event on Monday. The children took part in “friendly” games of tag rugby against the other cluster schools. The children worked well as team both tactically and collaboratively and Miss Lee was very proud of them all.
On Monday 18th November our Year 6 Badgers hosted a tea party for Broughton residents who attend different clubs in the village. This provided an excellent opportunity for Broughtonians to come and see what the children have been up to and for our children to engage with different generations from the village.
Message from Mrs McDonald "Thank you so much for inviting us to tea on Monday. It was such an enjoyable time talking to the pupils. They were all so kind and had such interesting things to share with us. They were delightful and are a credit to their parents and the school. Thanks also for the lovely tea. Keep up the good work!"
Message from Trish Chadder "Dear Mrs Macey and your staff and especially Year 6 pupils.
Thank you all for giving so many people in the Village a special day to remember.
Your students were a delight to meet and showed us some incredible work both in writing and art. They all have the most wonderful handwriting but expressed such confidence and care with people they hardly knew.
This couldn't happen without your kindness and fantastic care and careful instruction to the young charges in your hands. I have always thought that we are so fortunate in this Village to have a lovely school, but today you pulled all the stops out and showed great kindness to many of us!
We all had a wonderful afternoon so a huge thank you."
Children in Need – Thank you
Our non-uniform day raised £ 104 towards this worthwhile charity.
On Thursday we celebrated National Outdoor Classroom day with a variety of workshops led by staff in the morning and class based sessions in the afternoon. The weather was perfect and the children had a superb day searching for mini-beasts, decorating outdoor areas and making musical instruments from natural items. We are looking forward to future Outdoor Classroom days which have already been booked into the diary. Watch this space!
The Otters and Badgers classes had an interesting and informative morning with two fire fighters from Hampshire. They learnt all about keeping safe and sensible precautions to take in the event of a fire. Otters had the chance to dress in the fire fighters uniform !
We were lucky enough to receive a visit from Simon Pratley who has recently completed a tour around Africa on his motorbike. He gave a fantastic insight in to aspects of his trip, with photographs and maps to bring the adventure to life. The children loved sitting on the bike and asking lots of great questions. It is always great to welcome visitors into school and learn about their travels and experiences.
