Admission arrangements

The information below gives details of admission arrangements for the school. As a County school, we follow the standard Hampshire admissions policy for its schools.

Our school official intake number for Year R is 12 pupils. However, we are flexible on this number and it is very rare for us to be full in any age group or class. For Year R, we always look at the number of the current intake and match that number to a total of 30 for when the two halves are united in the Year 1/2 class. This means that some years we will take up to 18 children: but we never take less than 12.

We do have admissions limits in place in each year group.

If you are outside our official catchment area, it is still likely that we may be able to offer you a school place. Please contact the school in the first instance to check for availability and to arrange a look round.

September 2025 Entry for Reception Year:

Choosing a school for your child is an important step in their development which we know is essential to get right. We would love to welcome you for a tour of our school. This is a wonderful way to meet the team and get a feeling for the ethos and values of the school, which are so important.

We will be holding Open Days, so please do get in touch.  We can answer any specific questions you may have,  discuss a special need or circumstances you want to talk through with us and find out what is important to you as a family.

Our Open Day events will take place between 9.30am - 11am on

Tuesday 8th October 2024

Tuesday 19th November 2024

To book a visit on one of our open days, please contact the school office - 01794 301286 or  via email: adminoffice@broughton.hants.sch.uk

How to apply

If you live in Hampshire

If you live in Hampshire, you can apply from 1st November 2024 online at www.hants.gov.uk/admissions.
The application deadline is Wednesday 15th January 2025.

If you live outside the area

If you live in another area, or will be moving to the area for the new school year and would like to apply for a place at Broughton you would need to speak with your Local Authority Admissions Team and follow their process.

However, In Year Entry applications are made direct to the school, and the school arranges all of the paperwork relating to the change of school.

For both application types, we warmly welcome you to visit the school, to see us in action and experience our learning environment. Our Executive Head, Mrs Lucy Macey, would be pleased to show you around.
