Safeguarding determines the actions that we take to keep children safe and protect them from harm in all aspects of their school life. As a school, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of our pupils. Safeguarding encompasses the actions that we take to prevent harm; to promote wellbeing; to create safe environments; to educate on respect for the rights of others; and to respond to specific issues and vulnerabilities. All of these aspects form part of the safeguarding responsibilities of the school.
More detailed information on our approach to safeguarding, including our policies on Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Health & Safety are available on the Policies page of this website. You can also find a link there to 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' which provides the UK statutory framework for schools on safeguarding children and safer recruitment.
As duty-bearers under the UNCRC, we have a duty to protect our pupils and take our responsibility to uphold articles 19, 33, 34, 36 with due seriousness.
We expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to the school to share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. A guide on our safeguarding and emergency procedures is provided here:
