Roles in Year Six
As a rights-respecting school, we decided to promote equity for all pupils in year six by sharing responsibilities amongst all the children. This resulted in a division of roles and the development of a rota to ensure that all children would have the opportunity to fulfil the designated leading responsibilities: merit counting, leading celebration assemblies, organising the board of brilliance and welcoming parents into assemblies. The children also take turns to be responsible to organise and run house events.
Peer Mediation
Training is offered to children in Badgers' class in peer mediation. For details of this role please look at the separate page (Young Peacemakers) on this website.
School Council
The school council comprises of elected individuals from each year group. They regularly meet with Miss Ayers to express their views, raise concerns and suggest changes to school life.
Meet our school council representatives for 2024:
"Hi, I am Lukas and I am a very kind, caring and helpful boy. I am 8-years-old and I am into a lot of things: running, maths, history and most other sports. I am in Year 4 and my teacher is called Mr Webbe alongside Miss Kerley - they are both great. In my role of school councillor, I am looking forward to bringing new things into school by listening to others' suggestions and am excited to carry out my role this year."
"Hi, I'm James and my favourite colour is blue. My favourite subject is D.T and my favourite sport is tennis. This is my second time being a school councillor but I am so excited to carry out the role again as I feel I can really make a change. I treat everybody the same and respect everyone's views equally."
"Hi, I am Amelie and I am Year 6 (10-years-old). I wanted to be a school councillor because I believe I can make a difference. I have a passion for helping people and making them feel wanted and safe. People should be treated fairly. That is why I chose to be a school councillor."
"Hello, I'm Ella and I am happy and proud to be a school councillor this year. I am passionate about making the school a better place even though in my opinion, the school is already the best in the world! I will listen to everybody's thought and opinions and show respect and fairness all round."
