School clubs

Clubs

We believe at Broughton that children should have access to a wide range of opportunities for learning and development.  To that end, we run a number of clubs that give them a variety of opportunities to explore and develop skills and hobbies that can last them a lifetime.  The clubs provided tend to vary according to the time of year.

These have included art, chess, choir, computing, craft, cricket, football, film club, fun fitness, gardening, library, multi-skills, netball, general sports, traditional maypole dancing, nature, recorders, Top Trumps, hockey and pet club.

Most clubs are run by staff or volunteers and are free, including sports clubs which are run by outside professionals. We want as many children as possible to participate in activities and sports to widen their learning experience.

Eco Club

Includes activities such as gardening and litter picking.

Film Club

Film Club  is an opportunity for the children to relax with their friends and watch U and PG films. They are then given the opportunity to discuss themes and questions that may arise.

Cross-Country

As part of our commitment to encourage the children to lead a healthy lifestyle, we offer a cross country club for KS2 children during lunch time on a Wednesday. The children run both in the school grounds and around the village and some sessions are led by a parent who is a fitness and motivational coach.

Sports Club for KS1 and KS2

Sports Club is run by Mrs Deveraux, a professional sports teacher who comes in from outside school. Children learn new skills while having a lot of fun!

Air Fix Club

The children build and paint aeroplane models which they are then able to take home.

Cookery Club

Cookery Club takes place in our child-friendly kitchen area. The children learn about healthy eating and how to create some delicious recipes.
