We love a tradition here at Broughton Primary School, and are not put off by any poor weather which comes our way. Due to meticulous planning, we managed to find the small window of sunshine on Wedsday 28th for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Big thanks to FOBS for their egg-cellent and most generous provision of the eggs, and egg-specially to Mrs. Green who set up and ran the event.
As if that weren’t enough egg-citement, our annual Egg Rolling Egg-stravaganza took place in a different form this year, due to a saturated field. Instead, the inaugural Egg Curling Championship took place in the school hall, with children competing to roll their eggs nearest to rooster. No roosters were harmed during the event, though several eggs cracked under the pressure.
Our Egg-static Winners were as follows:
Squirrels - Hugo R
Otters - Cordie
Foxes - Jack
Badgers - Alice
Staff - Mrs. Cantelo
Champion of Champions - Jack
On Thursday Mrs. Cantelo and Mrs. Thackeray accompanied six children from Badgers who were treated to an excellent day out at Marwell Activity Centre as a result of the school achieving the Sainsbury’s Gold Award. They all enjoyed archery, a muddy assault course and a 50m climbing wall and attacked every challenge with a positive attitude and bravery. Highlights of the day; mud, teamwork and dark tunnels!
