Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you’re all enjoying the start of the summer holidays! I’m really looking forward to welcoming your child into Foxes Class in September – we’ve got lots of exciting learning and fun ahead.
Our Topic – The Romans in Britain
To kick off the year, our first half-term topic will be History, focusing on the Romans and their occupation of Britain. It’s a brilliant topic full of stories, inventions, and battles – always a big hit with this age group!
Homework
Homework will be set every Friday via Google Classroom it will be due in the following Thursday. The current Year 3 children are already familiar with using Google apps, and all children will come home with their Google login, as well as details for Sora and Times Tables Rock Stars, ready to use over the summer. I will set up a Foxes 2025-26 class page and link your child’s account to this.
I’ll post weekly homework updates on Google Classroom. Children are welcome to comment on the post, ask questions or share their successes – it’s a lovely way to build confidence and stay connected. We will send out acceptable use of classroom in due course. Here is a guide on how to access our class page… https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/15605102?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop- they will need to use the class code sent home with them for the first time they log in.
Weekly homework includes:
Holiday Homework
If you weren’t able to attend the holiday homework meeting, your children have been sent home with a 'homework folder' . It includes suggested activities for over the summer and dates when a space in the village hall will be available for children to access reading books for he holidays.
Please also keep an eye on your inbox – I’ll be sending a friendly email to your child during the summer break just to check in. If they’d like to reply, they can write back as a letter or postcard and send it to the school address. I’ll be popping in during the holidays and would absolutely love to hear what they’ve been up to! I will post it on Google Classroom too!
PE Days
Our PE days may vary, especially with the unpredictable autumn weather. One session is fixed on Wednesdays, but the second may change week to week.
To keep things easy, please ensure your child’s PE kit is in school from Monday to Friday each week.
Wishing you all a fantastic summer, and I can’t wait to see you and your wonderful children in September!
Warm wishes,
Mr Webbe
