FOBS - Friends of Broughton School
FOBS is not just a parents' association (now more commonly known as a Home School Association), but is open to anyone interested in supporting the school and its work. The group provides the link between the school, the village and surrounding area that it serves.
The role of FOBS has many facets. It provides a social environment for introducing new parents to the school and helps to foster community spirit both within the school and within its catchment area.
The Committee is elected at the AGM held at the beginning of the school year and consists of a mix parents, teachers and, if possible, representatives of the village community.
Recent projects have included funding of our new ICT infrastructure and new equipment for our classes. Events organised by FOBS include the traditional Summer fete, car boot sale, Easter egg hunt, end of year barbeque and cake sales.
FOBS has funded two major projects in this academic year - a redevelopment of a wild area to provide a quieter playground extension using natural materials and seating plus helping to furnish a new small group working room developed above the reception area.
